Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s last name is spelled “Osama” on some 300 absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County hilltowns.
Is it a Freudian slip, intentional gaffe or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one politician pointed out that the letters “s” and “b” are not exactly keyboard neighbors.

I only see one of two things happening. A citizenry blissfully ignorant of a dictatorship, or civil war. I mean this isn’t a prank on the ballot for fraternity president here, you know?
Yours is the first report on this I have seen so I haven’t looked around yet but I hope people, of all parties and political ideologies, are outraged by this.

Anyway, I think the “typo” was a Freudian slip. Both Osama and Obama hang around with people who attacked the Pentagon, so maybe it was just an innocent mistake.
Pretty much everyone with a functioning brain has agreed the ACORN problem is people robbing their bosses, not planning any form of fraud.
McCain seems to think they’re pretty swell.
In NC (outside of the slavish tunnel vision that owns MA), the ACORN people are easily identified. They (desperate losers or hard-core partisans) walk around and sign-up people at gas stations, bus stops, etc. They all have the same patter: “I need to get paid, and if you sign up, I only need a couple more signatures”. The same people sign up the same “voters” as many times as the voters are willing. It’s a joke, and most of the people I see nowadays just walk right past the idiots. But, there are some people who depend on the free cigs and “rides”, and sign up to vote every day.
Life in the real world must be very unsettling to the Obanmites, or they wouldn’t have to pretend so hard that it didn’t exist.
That’s one of the side benefits of Massachusetts relatively conservative voter registration system, we just don’t see these cats. The down side is we fill that void with LaRouche followers.
ACORN actually does some great work, which is why John McCain has also worked with them.
