That itchy trigger finger is what sent me here. I have no idea who's calling the shots, but even the most mildly "offensive" (read: not hewing to whatever agenda is guiding their hand) posts routinely get extirpated.
The perils of a one-Party, one-paper town become more evident every day, don't they? Oh, and down here in W-S, we have pretty much the same issue (as far as the paper is concerned, at least). Our newspaper could swap editions with the T&G for a day and no one would notice.

I left a shortened version of this post as a comment on the T&G story and see that it has been unceremoniously deleted. Anyone have any insight on who the person with the itchy trigger finger is over there?

The parks dept. was notified on July 14th of a possible vandalism. I also heard that a few weeks ago, someone pulled down one of the hanging works, apparently trying to steal the bike parts it was composed of. Was any security beefed up? It may not be important if whether or not high level city officials are aware of every detail going on in a big city, but someone must have the the assigned responsibility to assure safe parks including those programs placed within them. We spend taxes to create park jobs, for what??? I wrote about some suspicious activity at Elm Park more than a week ago, here:

Just goes to show you, it's not only the politicians who make this city a bad joke. The cretins who stole the artwork (one of those "non-violent crimes" that we hear so much about) are the root of the problem.
From now on, all public art should be locked away in a private room.
