1. kids build a Wiffleball field
2. kids play Wiffleball
2. lawyers show up and obligatory batshit insanity ensues
…they had no idea just who would come — youthful Wiffle ball players, yes, but also angry neighbors and their lawyer, the police, the town nuisance officer and tree warden and other officials in all shapes and sizes. It turns out that one kid’s field of dreams is an adult’s dangerous nuisance, liability nightmare, inappropriate usurpation of green space, unpermitted special use or drag on property values, and their Wiffle-ball Fenway has become the talk of Greenwich and a suburban Rorschach test about youthful summers past and present.
Jack Weinberg was right. Kids, don’t trust anybody over 30.

Good keeps those punks inside there house where they belong.
Wiffle ball is for punks.
Damn punks! Throwing your crazy unhittable curve balls and taping up the holes with duct tape like some sort of freaks.
Stay inside your homes and play video wiffleball on the Wii where no one has to see you.
Hooligans!
I think that wiffle ball is a good thing, but I think that it’s also a good thing to get permission before going onto someone else’s property.
While Greenwich is at it, why not just ban kids!
All problems solved for now and forever.
“If I come home at 6 at night after working all day, I want peace and quiet. I can’t have that. I have dozens of people behind my house playing Wiffle ball. If their parents think this is so great, let them play at their house.”
Are we cocooning ourselves indoors to the point where we belive their house is supposed to be impervious to the outside world? Sorry, but the sound of kids playing isn’t a nuisance, and there’s tons of folks in crappy neighborhoods who happily trade the sound of pickup wiffle ball games behind their house during the afternoon as opoosed to gunshots, sirens, feral cats and five thousasnd dollar car stereo systems in the middle of the night.
Greenwich: Proof that money can’t buy class.
I am going down to Greenwich to play some wiffle ball and bologna some BMWs, any one want to come with me?
